Introduction
Optimism (Twitter : https://twitter.com/optimismPBC) is an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution . Optimism and Arbitrum both use the Optimistic Rollup technology.
Rules
Optimism doesn’t have a token yet. They haven’t announced any airdrop plans.
Recently they published an article about moving to community ownership and governance. This might be a signal to their token launch. We can try our luck and become one of their early mainnet users for a potential retroactive airdrop.

Getting Started:
If you don’t have the Optimism network on your MetaMask, go add it at https://chainlist.org/.

Step 1:
You’ll have to bridge over some $ETH to Optimism. You can use Orbiter or Hop to do the bridging from other Layer 2s such as Polygon. Both Orbiter and Hop don’t have a token yet.

Step 2:
We can then start to interact with different protocols in Optimism. Uniswap and Aave are already live on Optimism for swapping and borrowing purposes.Â
I list some protocols on Optimism without tokens below. Interact with the ones you like.
Pika Protocol
This is a DEX for perps. You can either trade perps or deposit USDC into their vault for ~20% APR.
Clipper Exchange
An AMM on Optimism. They are also on other network so make sure you select Optimism. You can add liquidity or make some swaps.
Polynomial
Polynomial provides DeFi Option Vaults on Optimism. This is similar to Ribbon, Thetanuts and Katana. Their vaults are full right now so you can’t make any new deposits at this moment.Â
(They take sETH and sUSD as deposits. You can get sETH and sUSD from swapping on 1inch.)
Pegasus

Pegasus is a AMM-style interest rate perpetual platform.
We covered the testnet of Pegasus in a previous article where the goal is to get to 120 $slPEGA to redeem a PegaPal NFT. PegaPal NFTs can be sold or used to farm $PEGA tokens.
They have just launched mainnet where traders will be rewarded $slPEGA. Read the details here.
